If anyone reads this and thinks I'm not updating, I do update on occasion but I usually mark the entries, friends only or private. If you want me to friend you leave a message :)
I know that you deserve more. You should have someone here who updates daily. Or at least weekly. It's sad really. How hard is it to update this thing? Not that hard. It's a matter of remembering. And making time. And taking the pressure off myself to be funny or witty or clever. Because the people who read this already know me. And you know I'm not that clever! :D So why pretend?
So the quick update is this... my mom came to visit. It was great to see her.
I fell at work and sprained my wrist and banged up my jaw ans leg pretty good.
I will live.
I'm still seeing fun boys.
Adam decided to call.
After a week of letting him ask, I agreed to see him again :D
I guess he is into me.
It's my first thanksgiving alone. And I'm a little freaked out about it. Stupid but true.
And last but not least I love you guys who read this. Even though I'm a slacker who doesn't update properly.
You are an island. You don't need anyone else to make you happy. And though you see yourself as a loner, people are drawn to you. Deep and sensitive, you tend to impress others with your insights. You also tend to be psychic - so listen to that inner voice!
My plans for this evening changed. I was supposed to get together with the guy I went out with on Halloween. Nice guy, and I enjoyed his company. But he never called to confirm. (here's a little tip guys, call to confirm). Earlier in the day, the guy I'm supposed be seeing on Saturday asks me what I'm doing tonight. I say, well, I'm not sure but what did you have in mind? Let's meet.
Long story short, I really like this guy. He's sweet and funny and I think he's handsome. Killer body. Killer. Body. Oh my. He's nothing like any guy I've ever dated but I'm so glad I met him.
And I'm really looking forward to Saturday now ;-)
Every now and then I'm struck by how amazing my daughter is and how much I love her.
Amanda had the difficult task of telling her father and stepmother that she wanted to come back to live with me for high school. It was not an easy conversation for her to have. Her fahter was very sad and he cried which was hard for her to watch. She loves her father, and he provides her with lots of nice things and she does enjoy that. He was under the impression that she enjoyed the things so much that it was going to keep her there. He's been able to a lot more for her monetarily than I ever could. He makes about 3-4 times what I make and lives in a reletaivly inexpensive area. I'm glad they have nice things and I'm glad they have given Amanda nice things. But if he knew Amanda at all he would know that things aren't the way to her heart. And I'll admit there was a time that I thought she would be swayed by all of that but deep down, I knew that wasn't the child I raised. She told her dad that it wasn't that she didn't want to live with him, it was that she didn't want to live without me. I can't tell you what hearing that meant to me. She's my girl, my baby, we have something special.
I'm glad she had this time with him and I'm glad that he has a better idea of what parenting involves. I hope that he will continue to want to be a part of her life and that he'll find a way to be as active and involved as he can. But more than anything, I'm glad she's coming home to me. I miss my baby girl and it will be good to have her home again.
Satuday night... what can I say about Saturday night? Hmmm, well, the Scriptease show went really well! They always do a great job but last night was one of their best shows. Well done Teasers! Of course once the show was over, it was time for the real fun to begin. :D
Sassy and I went to pick up some food so we wouldn't be hammered after 1 drink and then ran back to my house so I could change. We ate, I changed, then we headed downtown. There were tons of people in full costumes but we were just wearing regular clothes and I had on horns (how appropriate) and Sassy had on a princess crown. We were going to go to the catalyst but there was long line and I didn't feel like waiting so we headed to the Blue Lagoon where for the first time ever I paid a cover charge to get in. $5. Bastards. Oh well, in the bar we went and I ordered the first drink, a jagerbomb. One shot of jagermeister that gets dropped into about a half a glass of redbull. Yum! Sassy didn't like it but too bad! We saw a total hottie at the bar and found him playing video games after about 10 minutes. I started talking to him (surprise, surprise) and we played a couple games with him. More chatting, more flirting, and let me not forget to tell you that I walked away from him with more money than I started out with. lol. Get your dirty minds out of the gutter! And no I didn't steal it. He gave it willingly. He bought a secret from me :D and I bought us all drinks. Then he foolishly pulled out $20 which I just took out of his hand, and he never asked for it back. Oh well. Let that be a lesson to you Officer McDreamy. Did I mention he was a cop? :D
The good officer left and we went to buy another drink with my new found riches. Then we went to dance. Good music and a very cute boy later we having a very good time. Wallpaper, that's what we called him since that was his costume, was a great dancer. And an even better kisser. Sassy and I both gave him 2 thumbs up. Yes we shared. :D He was too cute for Sassy to keep him all to herself. lol
We left Wallpaper and his friends to find their way home and Sass and I headed back to my place where we chatted about the fun we had and how we must do it again soon! There's so many cute boys in Santa Cruz that we haven't kissed! ;)
Gee, I wonder what tomorrow will bring? Oh yeah, another show and a date. I'll update soon.
What a weekend I have in store. Tonight, I have a show with Scriptease. I love working with them so it should be big fun! My friend SassyJen is coming over the hill to go to the show and then we're going out to play :D Tomorrow, I have to do all my chores and I might be going to the movies... I'm not sure yet. Monday, glorious Monday, I have another show for UmGeeUm and then I have a date ;) He's meeting me at the show and we'll go out after. Santa Cruz is WILD on All Hallows's Eve. This is the town with at least one costume shop on every block downtown! And boy do they do it up right! I figure it's a nice, fun way to get to know him and we'll see what happens. He knows one of the people in UGU so we have someone in common. I'll make sure I have someone take a picture of me in my fairly lame but cheap costume and I'll post it later!
